Dormouse protected species

Dormouse (Muscardinus avellanarius)

Dormice are found mainly in the southern English counties and in Wales. Surveys in the 1980s and 1990s revealed that dormice have disappeared from a number of northern counties, and are declining southwards.

The dormouse is strictly protected under the Wildlife & Countryside Act 1981 (as amended) and the Conservation (Natural Habitats &c.) Regulations 1994 (as amended).

EHM can assist your organisation in planning and executing any Dormouse surveys and mitigation strategies you may require.
